The symposium will be held at Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad de la República.

Plenary activities. Plenary talks and tutorials will take place during the mornings in the conference room (Salón de Actos "Ing. Eladio Dieste") situated on the ground floor of the "Edificio Polifuncional José Luis Massera". This building is located next to the pedestrian walkway "Senda Ing. Nelson Landoni" on one side of a small football field.
Registration. On monday, a registration desk will be situated at the entrance of the conference room.
Technical sessions. They will take place during the afternoons (except Wednesday) on the 7th floor of the main building of "Facultad de Ingeniería". The lifts are located in the entrance hall on the ground floor.

Venue
The following buses pass by Facultad de Ingeniería: 192, 117, 199, 300 and 405 The journey costs U$ 56 (Uruguayan pesos). Payment is in cash. Frequency depends on the bus line.
Some recommendations for lunch
- Faculty Cafeteria (next to the entrance hall of the main building). It has a daily menu and other options.
- Rodelu restaurant (on the other side of the football stadium that is behing the "Edificio Polifuncional"). In addition to options à la carte, it offers a daily executive menu ("menú ejecutivo") that includes dessert and a beverage (cost $550):
- Monday: fish with mashed potatoes (pesca del día rebosada en papa con puré mixto)
- Tuesday: spaghetti al wok
- Wednesday: chicken strudel with potatoes (strudel de pollo con papas al rak)
- Thursday: roast beef in milk (matambre a la leche con papas y boniato)
- Friday: sorrentinos in 4 cheese sauce (sorrentinos calabaza con salsa 4 quesos)
- Food courts inside Punta Carretas Shopping (15 minutes walking distance).
- Inside Disco supermarket in Punta Carretas Shopping (15 minutes walking distance).
Excursion
On Wednesday we will have an excursion from 13:30 till aprox. 18:00. In the excursion we will go to downtown, see part of the old city, some monuments and buildings, and part of the coast. We will have two buses with guides in english and spanish.
The excursion will start at a parking place that is behind the faculty. To access the parking follow the Senda Ing. Landoni in direction to the sea.

Conference dinner
The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday at 20:00 at Mercado Williman (Claudio Williman 626). The dinner will be on an internal terrace of the market. You will be able to choose between 3 alternative dishes (meat, pizza and vegetarian).

From the airport to the city
Carrasco airport is outside Montevideo. There are several ways to reach the city from the airport: airport taxis, a transfer service (a private service) and public transportation.
Airport taxi (https://www.taxisaeropuerto.com/). It accepts payment by credit card. You can see the price table on the website. For example, it costs around USD 50 (US dollars) to Punta Carretas, which is a district close to the venue and where are most of the hotels we recommended.
Transfer service (a mini-bus run by the same company as the airport taxis). It takes you directly to your accomodation. It costs U$400 (Uruguayan pesos), around USD 10. It accepts payment by credit card. See https://www.taxisaeropuerto.com/ for more details.
Public transportation
- Bus DM1 to Punta Carretas This is a public bus that passes by the airport and ends its journey at Punta Carretas Shopping (a shopping mall). In front of the last stop (at a corner of the shopping mall) there is a taxi stand, where you can take a local taxi (some hotels in Punta Carretas are within walking distance of the shopping mall). The journey till Punta Carretas takes around an hour. DM1 frequency depends on the hour and the day (you can find more details here). DM1 costs U$ 98 (Uruguayan pesos); payment can only be made in cash.
- Buses to Terminal Tres Cruces Take the public buses 701, 710, C4, 711 with destination Montevideo till Terminal Tres Cruces (main bus terminal). From there you can take a local bus or taxi to the accomodation. The journey to Montevideo in buses 701, 710, C4 or 711 rounds U$ 80 (payment in cash). In Montevideo, the journey in local buses costs U$ 56 (payment in cash); the ticket is valid for an hour.
Currency exchange services
There are currency exchange services at the city center and in shopping malls. Many debt collection agencies, such as ABITAB or RedPagos used to change US dollars, argentinian pesos and brazilian reals.
At the airport there are currency exchange services (our recommendation is not to change much there as the exchange rate may not be the best).
Weather
According to the weather forecast, we can expect good weather during the SLALM week. It will be relative cold, temperatures will range between 7oC and 14oC.
